Has anyone ever heard of the town or city of Tervillion, Canada on the St. Lawrence River? I have a newspaper article from 1906 with a missing relative mentioned as living in Tervillion, Canada on the St. Lawrence River. I have checked in Yahoo and only come up with a person's name. Google has nothing.

Thank you

That's the problem. It was spelled that way in a 1906 newspaper article. the relative was Catherine Murphy. Unfortunately I have no age for her and there are many, many Catherine Murphy's in Ontario and Quebec where I was guessing she might be from. Thanks for the website information.

the Oil City Gazette, Oil City, PA, June 7, 1905, Page 2. I found it on the Newspapers.com website. It's a terrible copy to read. I guessed at the spelling if the city but had the Venango County, PA Historical society look at the microfilm of the paper and they verified Trevillion.

I forgot to mention that Catherine Murphy's sister is Elizabeth McGovern and the newspaper article has her list as Mrs. M. McGovern.

You have spelled it differently in your notes. There is no Tervillion in Canada but there is a Trevelyan in Leeds County, Ontario near the St. Lawrence River.

YOu can find it on google maps.

Trevelyan is correct. I found her death record. Thank you.
