I also am going to be collecting stories on all of the descendants of Green Berry and Ida, so anything you would like to share, will be compiled into story form and later posted on our CREEKMORE BRANCHES site.
Anything you remember hearing such as how your parents, grandparents, g-grandparents met, married, lived, what they did for a living, served in what war or anything of interest that you would like to share, I will attempt to bring this family to life, in story form as I get time, and will then share this on our CREEKMORE BRANCHES site at myfamily.com.

Greenberry CREEKMORE

married 2nd;

30 OCT 1889 in Whitley County, Kentucky
Elizabeth Sharp Dickerson
b. abt 1840, d. 13 Nov1892,
buried Siler/Osborn Cemetery,
Whitley Co., KY.

Elizabeth was the
mother of Mary Dickerson who married as
the 3rd wife of Emby King Creekmore,
the son of Greenberry Creekmore and Ida
Ellison.
The following is taken from the book The
Creekmore Family by Helen Sigler
Smith, 15502 MacArthur, Redford, MI 48239,
page 68
"Green Berry Creekmore, being very ill
health and unable to support himself
after Ida's death, filed for a pension on
behalf of his son Andrew's service
and death in the Civil War. He was
awarded $12.00 per month beginning 17
Mar 1888, however, he was dropped from the
pension roll on 5 Sep 1895 for
failure to claim it. By this time, he was
deceased. The pension file
reveals some of the information which was
used to file his claim for
property loss. In an affidavit he states
that the Confederate Soldiers
robbed his house and destroyed most of his
papers, one a letter from Andrew
containing an unspecified amount of money."

"An affidavit from Dr. Lafayette Sproul of
Whitley Co., KY gives his
physical condition as having a crippled
right hand and having had
erysipelas, resulting in damage to the
right eye."End of excerpt from book.

(****) NOTE: for Thomas B. Creekmore
The following is from Helen Smith's book on the Creekmore family, page 280.
"Thomas B. Creekmore went to Arkansas with members of the Cox family
following his marriage to Dialtha. Dialtha's father also died in Arkansas
where he is buried. They are said to have lived in Mulberry, which is in
Crawford County. Dialtha's brother Stephen and Thomas got into the logging
business together in Little Rock. As a result of disagreements with the
timber people, Stephen and Thomas left that enterprise. Thomas stayed
behind for awhile, and was killed by robbers."

Subject: Greenberry Creekmore s/o Thomas B. Creekmore

Letter dated June 26, 1932

Clovis N.M. 6-26-1932

My Dear Mrs. Wortz:

I was again pleased to receive your Letter written while in Saint Louis

which is Interesting. I remember very distinctly my Father Thomas B.
Creekmore making two Surveys in 1865. One on Capuchin Creek where we lived
and one on the Opposite Side of the mountain next to Jellico Creek. A Deputy
Surveyor of Whitley County Ky. made the Surveys for him. and at the same
trip made several surveys for Unkle Green and others.

I knew Father Unkle Green and Unke Dave had made Surveys before I was

Born. Those Surveys was made near the Ky. State line on the Tennessee Side
where I and your Grand Father Randolph Creekmore was raised or partly
raised. Unkle Dave moved to Huntsville before Delilah and Randalph was near
grown.

After Rail Roads were made through that part of Tennessee and Ky. Those

lands became valuble on account of the Timber and coal. most of Fathers old
Farm where I was raised is now owned by the Proctor Coal Co.

Time has past so quickly. and brought on So many Changes and Strange

events. it is amazing to think about.

I am glad to know that you are still int. in Creekmore history. I am sorry

that some of the Older Creekmores like Father or Unkle Dave did not abtain a
true history of all to hand over to us all. If they had ben history minded
like you. They sure would not have neglected it. I know you undertaken a
troublsom job but I do hope you will succeed.

You written me some two years ago that Cousin Bob Creekmore was in bad

health. I wish you would tell me how he is now.

I am getting quite feeble myself. I have had to give up Farm labor almost

entirely and if I could do any better would not be on the Farm agravated by
the Ills of the World depression.

Hoping to hear from you again.

Your old Friend

From the little bit of information I have, Green Berry and Ida Elison would have been my Great Great Grandparents.
My dad was Marion Creekmore, His parents were Lewis Millard Creekmore and mother Adelia (Dillie) C., Lewis M.

Reucanny father was Green Berry and mother was Ida Ellison.
His parents were Ballentine Batchelor Creekmore and Mary

My dad originally from Jellico area married my mother Virginia

Granville Willoughby and Mary Ann Baird of Jellico TN. My grandmothers maiden name was Trammel.
