Hi Melissa,

The Gordon Maxwell Jarvis in the tree was born in Queensland, most likely Brisbane, in 1915 and died in 1953. He was the son of Charles Milton Jarvis who in turn was the son of Charles Webb Jarvis, my great grandfather.

I have some information on Charles Milton Jarvis, mainly his WW2 service records from the national archvies and some census information, but have more information on Charles Webb Jarvis.

Regards
Michael

I saw a posting on another forum and seems several folks are looking for the family of Hannah Jarvis who was transported to NSW in 1816.

Hannah Jarvis was convicted for being involved in some riots of 1816 (not sure of the details) and two of her children followed her at a later date. Here is what I have for a list of children left behind in UK:

I am doing research about my own Jarvis's in Southwold, Suffolk. Apparently Hannah is my 3rd GGMother who was married to Willam Jarvis, b abt 1780 (unknown birth place) and d. Jul 1841 in Mutford, Suffolk, United Kingdom.

Children:
Hannah Jr
Birth 2 Dec 1799 in Lowestoft,
Death 15 Jan 1879 in New Norfolk, , Tasmania, Australia
William Jarvis Jr
Birth 18 April 1801 in England
Death 26 Apr 1870 in Macquarie Plains, Tasmania, Australia
Elizabeth Jarvis
Birth 14 Feb 1803
Death unknown
Robert S Jarvis
Birth 28 Nov 1805 in Trowse, Norfolk, England
Death 11 Sep 1876
James Jarvis
Birth 27 Sep 1807
Death unknown
Mary Ann Jarvis
Birth 23 Jun 1809
Death unknown
Henry Jarvis
Birth abt 1815 in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England
Death

That should be a good start and hope it helps.

Hi - I can see this query/thread is 5 years old but I've only just seen it. I may be able to help with info. Charles Webb Jarvis would have been my great, grandfather. His son Charles Milton Jarvis was my Grandfather who was married to my Grandmother, Ada Alice Jarvis (nee Long). Nanna had three sons, Charles Edward, Gordon Maxwell and Eric George in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Eric George Jarvis was my father and was born on 6 July 1917 and died on 5 April 1997. I hope this helps. Are you related to the Jarvis family? My name is Beryl Jarvis but I get called BJ.

Hi Melissa
I can see your post was 3 years ago but I've only seen it now. It looks like we're related. Your Great Grandfather was my Uncle as brother to my father, Eric George Jarvis. From memory Gordon used to be called Biggy but I think he died a couple of months after I was born in 1953. Would love to hear back. Thanks BJ (Beryl Jarvis)

Hi Michael
I know this query is 3 years old but I've only just seen it. Wow. That's amazing info. Charles Webb Jarvis is my Great Grandfather and Charles Milton Jarvis is my Grandfather. I never met either of them. I knew Uncle Charlie (Charles Edward Jarvis) but I didn't know my other uncle Gordon Maxwell Jarvis as he died a couple of months after I was born in 1953. My Nanna used to call him Biggy I think from memory. My father was Eric George Jarvis who was born on 6 July 1917 and died on 5 July 1997. I'm interested in who your parents are and how we are related. Would love to hear back from you. Thanks BJ (Beryl Jarvis)

Hi Beryl,
Charles Webb Jarvis is also my great grandfather but my grandfather was George William Jarvis, Charles Milton's brother and the youngest of the family. My mother was Maureen, George's youngest daughter.
Of all of my grandfather's siblings I only remember meeting Rita, and her husband Herb, who we took my grandmother to visit when I was about 10. She was quite frail and mostly bedridden when we went to see her.
I also think that I met you father once after my grandmother's funeral.
I have a bit of information on Charles Webb Jarvis, including some things that my uncle remembers his father saying about after he left the family (my grandfather was 5 when he left). I also have some bits and pieces on your grandfather Charles Milton but nothing out of the ordinary, service records and the like. Happy to compare notes.
