Hello,

I'm looking for the parents of Matthew Foener who was born in 1783 in Gull Island, Queens County. He married Anna Catherine Werner b. 1805.

I"m looking to trace back to my first ancestor on the Foener line who arrived in Nova Scotia.
I've gotten back this far but my information has gotten confusing and I'm a bit stuck. I did trace one foener (finer) (fiener) line back to Matthias finer (d. 31 Aug 1803)who arrived on the Gale in 1751. However, I'm not sure if this is the correct ancestor.

I show this Matthew as Feener or Feiner, born July 16, 1783, parents: Johan Feiner born Jan. 19, 1759 and Anna Elizabeth Heisler born about 1762. I've got 6 children of Matthew and Catherine. Johan is one of the sons of Mathias. With a name like yours <grin>, you must be descended from one of them. I see you're from Gloucester. Just came upon this today. My mother is a Gloucester Feener with ties to all of the names you have mentioned. Her father was William Albert Feener, son of Sophie Hartman and William P. If I can be of any help to you or you to me, please let me know.

Believe I am the same family. My grandfather was William Albert Feener, see same variety of spellings in my tree. Were from Lunenburg, Gull Island. Migrated to Gloucester. Many brothers and sisters.
