There were 2 Edward Wyatts that married 2 Frances Newtons.

1) Frances Newton, b. 2 nov 1747, daughter of William Newton and Mary Holloway, married William Richard Edward Wyatt, b. 22 jan 1742 Prince William, VA, the son of William Richard Edward Wyatt and Lettice Nichol

2) Frances Newton, b. 1677, daughter of John Newton and Mary Allerton, married Captain Edward Wyatt, b. 1677, the son of Conquest Wyatt and Sally Pate.

Surnames: Wiatt Wyatt Wiat Wyat

Dear group,

My 4th great-grandfather was Thomas Wiatt (or Wyatt) and he was born ca 1760. I can not get any further due to the Gloucester County records getting destroyed in the early 1800s. His father was possibly named John born ca 1730-40.

I am now exploring Edward Wyatt (b. 1677).

Edward Wyatt (b. 1677) had a son John (b. 1709) correct ?

Does anyone know if John (1709) had any children ?

If you do not know, would anyone care to offer a calculated guess ?

Another possibility could be ....

James Wyatt (b. 1674) had a son John (b. 1712), correct ?

Does anyone know if John (1712) had any children ?

Suggestions and theories welcomed.

Thank you.

Best Wishes,

William E. Wyatt
