I am looking for any information on John Watkins (d. 1796) in Wayne County, NC. His wife's name was Lydda and they had 13 children one of whom was Jesse Watkins my ggggrandfather. I have a copy of his will, but nothing else to go on. Thanks for any info.

Listed below are three different men by the name of John Watkins. I do not know the relationship of them all, but there appears to be a connection between all three families. My interest is the John Watkins of Wayne County. He had a son by the name of Arthur (half brother to a Jesse Watkins), who appears in the early Jefferson County, Georgia census records. Arthur’s name appears on a land grant of my 2nd Great grandfather, Silas Watkins, as a witness and copy holder. For this reason I feel there is a connection between Silas, Arthur Watkins, and John Watkins of Wayne County. Any help?

I too am searching for John Watkins born abt. 1790 to 1800. He had a large family that I do not have record of. He lived near Clinton and was a good friend of the Godwin family. He also fathered 3 sons with Reecy Godwin--one was my great grand father who listed him as his father on his church baptism record in 1899 the year before his death. I would appreciate the records you have.

I was very interested to see your information regarding John Watkins' marriages and children. I am a descendant of Patience Watkins whose mother is unclear. Is your information from family stories handed down? or other research. I would love to know more about this.
Thanks,
