Susanna Coblentz married Baltzer Hesson in Germany. I have list of their children but nothing on her except that she was born in Germany and died Frederick Co., Md. Can anyone help me with her parents names, her birthdate, deathdate etc. Some of her relatives must have migrated with her as at least two of her children married Coblentz, possibly cousins. Can anyone help me? She is my gr-gr-gr-gr-grandmother.

Hi,

My impression is that this link was disproved by a HESSON descendant, though I don't know details. Do you have a vital record citation for some event that shows that she was a COBLENTZ? At the German Reformed Church, Frederick, MD, a marriage between their daughter Elizabetha HESSON and Johan Peter COBLENTZ (son of Johan Niclaus C) took place on 5 Nov 1764--this is my link to Baltzar and Susannah Margaretha.

My info came from the Genealogical Index of Frederick Co., Md. where the Hessons all lived for a long while. My line migrated in early 1800's to Lawrence Co., Oh. The Society sent me copies of "Maryland German Church Records", and several copies of other documents. I'm not sure which book they copied Chapter 12 on "Hesson and Hessong Families by C.E.Schildknecht with Louis S. Hesson Jr. of Baltimore. but it states the history of the name,(his grandmother's maiden name being Hessong. It gives an article on Baltzer and Margaret Hesson near Silver Run and the story of their arrival and name of children. I don't have anything on the one you mentioned except the name only that Baltzer Jr. and Jacob both married Coblentz ladies.
cotact me for further info.

Bonnie,
I would like any information you have on the Coblentz family! I want to verify my dates with yours and see if mine are correct also.
I've got the family history that Lee W. Coblentz compiled the last time Aunt Darlene
was here she let me copy what I needed from his compiled history. But some of the dates
are off. You can e-mail me at dbridgesdw@yahoo.com. Thanks for responding.
Have a lovely day and God bless,
Your cousin Sonja (Coblentz) Bridges

Your ancestor Jesse Frederick is the brother of my grandfather's father Nathan King. Here is some of the information I have on the family:

Norman Coblentz (b. 9 May 1842, Randolph Co, Indiana, d. 7 Sep 1918, Union City, Randolph Co, Indiana) married Mary Ellen Sutton (b. 13 Aug 1849, Delaware Co, Indiana, d. 7 Feb 1940, Union City, Randolph Co, Indiana). They were married on 24 Dec 1863. Together, they had 15 children (!):

- Thomas Daniel (b. 19 Sep 1865, New Lisbon, Henry Co, Indiana, d. 13 Jul 1938 Payette, Payette Co, Idaho)
- Sarah Jane (b. 23 Jan 1867, d. 1869)
- Charles Irvin (b. 18 May 1868, Indiana, d. 1949)
- Norman Austin (b. 30 Jan 1870, Union City, Adams Co, Indiana, d. 16 Mar 1960, Lane Co, Oregan)
- Mary Avaline (b. 25 Aug 1872, d. 1967)
- Nathan King (b. 3 Oct 1873, Indiana, d. 28 Aug 1946, Ohio)
- Martha Dorothy (b. 5 Jan 1875, Indiana, d. 1957)
- William Albert (b. 1876, Indiana, d. 1902)
- Elizabeth M. (b. 1878, Indiana, d. 1921)
- Lillie Catherine (b. 15 Feb 1879, Indiana, d. 1959)
- John Wesley (b. 10 Aug 1881, Indiana, d. 1953)
- Jesse Frederick (b. 7 Jul 1883, Indiana, d. 1961)
- Candis Ola (b. 21 Mar 1886, Indiana, d. 1975)
- Emma Myrtle (b. 27 Jul 1890, Indiana, d. 1876)
- Harry Webster (b. 27 Jan 1893, Indiana, d. 1951)

I have plenty more information on the family if you would like to know anything else. I have our family traced all the way back to the first Coblentz in the family to come to America. This all come from the book The Coblentz Family in America, 1743-1982 compiled by Ruth Coblentz.

Hope you find this helpful.

Another interesting tidbit I should have mentioned...

Your great grandmother, Laurel Mae Cain, is the sister of my great grandmother, Sylvia Lugusta Cain. I have info on their family, as well.
