I am also looking for information on Freytags from Tennessee. My greatgrandmother was Caroline Irma Freytag. She married Arthur Anderson of Fentress or Morgan Co. TN. Callie was born Feb 26 1911 in TN and died Jan 12 2000 in Muncie Indiana. I would really appreciate your sending me any information you have or come across about the Freytags. Also, my great grandmother Callie has a brother who is still alive named Gene and still lives in TN. Hope this helps.

To Andrea....I'm not familiar with the Freytag's you are referring to. My grandfather, Floyd Edward Freytag, was a lifelong resident of Wartburg, TN (Morgan COunty). He was a circuit court judge there and a former warden of Brushy Mountain Prison. There could be a connection due to the county...I will send more info shortly.

Thanks for the reply. I talked to some family members and they told me that my greatgrandmothers given name was Irma Caroline, not Caroline Irma. They believe that her parents were George and Anne. Her siblings are as follows: Bill, Erwin, Arnold, Inman, Dorothy, and Gene (who lives in Muncie, Indiana).

Guess what? You are related to me. We originate from Francis Thomas (Franz) Freytag. I am the 5th generation you are 6th. I live in Wartburg, TN and know everyone you mentioned in your message. I have been working with my Aunt Miss Ethel Freytag on the family history for a few years now. Let me know how I can help.
