Cynthia, I am the granddaughter of George Washington Garner, II. We are certainly connected. I have been hoping to contact some of Aunt Elvira's descendants. I too have been tracing the Garners, and have a lot of info. I have a picture of the first George Washington Garner and his wife Hester Ann Graham Garner. As you know her mother Louisa Edmondson married Hiram Graham.
One of my aunts, Helen Ruth Garner Tipton told me of visiting the Ashleys up around Wichita Falls, Texas area. I was down in the Waxahachie, Texas area just recently, and visited a grandson of Babe Garner. He had a picture of Aunt Babe Nelson's family, and your Elvira was also in the picture. It was taken in the yard in front of a house (probably the Nelson's).
Hope to hear from you. Where in Alaska do you live? I live in Santa Anna, Texas right now. Have only been here a year. Have live a lot of other places. Have the Garner gypsy blood. Tell me about yourself.
My mother, Oma Garner, daughter of George Washington Garner, passed away the 8th of April this year. She was 98 years old. Her mother was Florida Baxter.
I would like to have information on all of Elvira's descendants and the family history that you have. Will exchange info with you if you'd like.

Aline, what a surprise to get your reply!!! I live in Ketchikan Alaska, have for the past 18 years. I came from Washington State. Which is where my parents are, Orville Noreen Ashley. My father is the son of Thomas Ashley Grandson of John Thomas Ashley, husband of Elvira Garner. I have some info on John Elvira. Children some living some not. I own a Corporate Fishing Lodge here in Alaska which does not allow me much time for research in the summer, but my last guests leave on the 13th of September I am planning on returning to my search asap!!! Actually starting to plan a winter excursion to your neck of the woods this winter!! Of all times to be traveling. Really appreciate your getting back to me, sorry I haven't replied sooner, this is the first time I checked the message board. As soon as I have time I will put together what I know send it to you!!!

Surnames: Loudermilk
I am seeking information on my paternal greatgrandfather whose origins are believed to be German. His name was Garner Loudermilk, and he married a woman named Minnie. I expect he lived at least part of his life in Goldbusk, Coleman County, Texas, as that is where his son, James Madison Loudermilk was born. I also believe the family lived at least some time in Oklahoma.

Any chance we are part of the same family?
