I came across your very old message on Rootsweb recently and thought I would check if you are still seeking info on the Schier family. I have an ancestor in my family tree called Anna Wilhelmine Schier who is the daughter of Johann Gottlieb and Pauline Schier. I believe she came out in 1855 from Prussia. I would be happy to check if this is the same family and exchange any info as I don't have a lot of details regarding her parents.
