Dear Ruth,

I sam sorry it has taken so long to reply but I do not check this board very often and was not informed that you sent a message.

Yes, I am very much interested.

In 1876 a John Baptist Kuchenreuther and his wife Barbara Ott emigrated to the United States and ended up in Milwaukee. They came from Erdenweis and Godas Bavaria.

Around 1880 a Johann Kuchenreuther and wife
Elizabeth Zintel emigrated to Milwaukee. They came from Erdenweis, Bavaria.

In 1881 a third Kuchenreuther family emigrated from Rohrmuche, Bavaria. The family came to the Milwaukee area and after several years moved to Iowa. Some of this famly later moved to Washington.

Yes, I would like to talk with the Kuchenreuthers of Iowa but not through a third party. Could you contact me directly
djschulteis @ juno.com.

Thank you.

I'm trying to dig up some info. for my next door neighbor. Her great grandfather Henry Kuchenreuther came to the US in 1881 and arrived in New York and went to Wisconsin and then to Iowa before 1900. Henry had a brother John and a sister Barbara that are believed to have stayed in Iowa. Henry and his wife Clara ?? came to Washington State about 1902/1903.

Would love to here of any connections.

Thanks,
Michelle

"... In 1876 a John Baptist Kuchenreuther and his wife Barbara Ott emigrated to the United States and ended up in Milwaukee. They came from Erdenweis and Godas Bavaria. Around 1880 a Johann Kuchenreuther and wife Elizabeth Zintel emigrated to Milwaukee. They came from Erdenweis, Bavaria ..."

Have you collected death dates for these families since posting? It looks like Johann Baptists's, John's and Elisabeth's death notices (for those who are interested in that kind of unique clipping) are found in "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950). The family also placed thank you notices (Danksagung) following the burial.
The German papers include the spelling Kuchenreuter.

Indexing Milwaukee's German newspapers continuously since 2007... helping to add the diversity of language and culture to the stories about our historic German-American culture.
