Can anyone do a lookup for me in any of the books about the Bay of Quinte or Hastings County? I know there was a Capt. George Singleton in the U.E.L., who had a son named John, born 1788 in Thurlow Twp, Hastings Cnty, Ontario. What I'm trying to do is find a connection between them and my GGgrandfather, William Singleton, born abt. 1808-1811. Thank you.

You should check a book called the Rambling River by Mary Plumpton I think you will find that it will help you.

I saw your post in ancestry in regard to Capt George Singleton

I too am researching Singleton, Shannon, Folkard, Faulkner, ......

My great great grandmother was Matilda Singleton, who married John Folkard

their son John was my grandmothers father

I also wonder if you are seeking William SIngleton who married Catherine Coad, if so, I beleive his father William was born in Ireland

If you care to share information, I would be glad to help you any way I can
