Sandra, I am wondering if your William could be an older brother to my Samantha b1849OH-her father might have been Nathan. The father supposedly was born in KY. Samantha married for the second time in 1882-at White Co., IL-sound familiar? Thanks!

She was born in OH, probably about 1850.She was married twice-next in White Co., IL to Ira Franklin Odam. I think she had a brother, William and she named a son William. Please write

Jacquie, sorry for my delayed reply to your message. I doubt what I have will be of help to you, but it makes an interesting story................

I'm actually not kin to Riley's or Spraque's. What I found in my 97 year old Grandmother's possession is what's left of a family bible. The only entries are what I transcribed before. Since we have no Riley's or Sprague's in the family, I inquired of my grandmother as to how this bible came to be in her possession. She didn't know. The home she lives in in Ohio was built by my gg grandfather James Porter Ward. Four generations of Ward's have lived in this house. There's lots of stuff........... Anyway, I set out on my quest.

Long story short.............It turns out that my grandmother's maternal grandfather, Johnason Christian Lahr, was a boarder in a home owned by George William Riley, born 20 July 1865 (possibly the nephew to your Samantha). The 1910 Ohio Census, Lucas County, Toledo City discloses this info. How exactly Johnason took possession of this bible is unknown, but I've placed him in the same home as George William Riley.

So, I don't have any info on the Riley's. Just the remants of a family bible. If you ever do find living descendants of George William Riley, I'd love to know. Good luck in your search, and again, I'm sorry for my delayed reply.

Sorry, the only entries are what I transcribed before. I searched, carefully, the entire bible (what's left of it) and those were the only entries.

If he is connected to my line-he would be part of the branch that remained in Ohio, after my line went to Indiana and then onto ILLINIOIS.

If anyone sees this that is connected to George Washington Riley who lived in Toledo City, Lucas Co., OH in 1910 (at age 45. b.1865),-please contact me.
