This is not my family, but I see from a search of immigration & passenger lists on Ancestry that your man went to sea at an early age. What an interesting life he must have lived.
If you can find his military record for WWII, you may find relatives listed there. Might be good to post here the names of his spouse(s) and children as well. Also, always good to say what sources you are using or have already checked, and what years you think he may have lived in Savannah.
