Benefit of Family Search Locations?

There is a family search "history center" relatively near me; is there an advantage to going there to do research? Do they have collections not available on Ancestry or other online places?

Yes! They have film of thousand upon thousand (literally) of parish registers and much, much more. Only a tiny proportion of this material has made its way online.

The resources available at any particular FHS at any one time are relatively limited. You need to order the film(s) you want and wait until they come.

You can search the catalogue via the FamilySearch website and order films online - there is a small charge.
