I am trying to connect the dots on Wyatt Coffey who moved from Tennessee sometime in the mid 1800's to California, married a local Indian woman named "Polly". They had children named:

Thomas Jeff COFFEY was born about 1861 in Indian Township, Plumas, California

Martha COFFEY was born about 1866 in Indian Township, Plumas, California.

Ira COFFEY.

Harry COFFEY was born about 1871 in Indian Township, Plumas, California.

Rosa COFFEY was born in July 1876 in Indian Township, Plumas, California.

Eda COFFEY was born about 1879 in Indian Township, Plumas, California.

I am a decendant from Ira Coffey. Any help finding information on this lost side of my family would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dwight Gray

I think that Wyatt Coffey was the son of Thomas Coffey and Mary S. "Polly" Hipsher and the younger brother of my ggg-grandfather William Ira Coffey. I have him/and or his family on the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses as well as the 1885 Clark County, Washington census.

I believe you are correct on your association on the family (at least as near as I can tell) You don't by any chance have any other information regarding Wyatt, Polly, or their decendents do you?

The only other thing I know is that Wyatt may have been married to Julia Hipsher before he left Tennessee. Or that might have been a different Wyatt Coffey - no one knows for sure.
