Looking for info on any of these daughters. Mary Hamilton may have married a William Lail. I can find no other records on these daughters. There were two sons, George Hamilton (my line) and John Hamilton (family still in north GA).

I believe John Hamilton b@ 1801 in SC and Edy b@ 1808 in GA were in Franklin county GA in 1830 and 1840 and in Rabun County GA in 1850 and 1860. By 1880, the son George was living in Transylvania County NC. George's children moved around from pickens/oconee counties SC to Transylvania/Jackson counties NC and Rabun/Towns counties GA. Have lots of info to share!!

Hello there,
Was any of your Hamiltons a Doctor? I don't have the first name of this Dr. Hamilton, just his wife's name was Eugenia Wingate. They would be my GGAunt and Uncle.

My only knowledge of a doctor in the family was Tom (Thomas Filmore) Hamilton born about 1873 in NC, son of George Hamilton Sarah Louisa Shelton Hamilton. Tradition says that he practiced in Louisianna somewhere until it was found out he was not actually a certified doctor. He then fled Louisianna and eventually returned to NC.

Hey again,
No, this one was married to Joseph Edward Wingate's daughter Eugenia. Her parents were married,I have two dates, until I verify them, I have to use both. 26 Oct 1856. 11 Nov 1856.So if you add twenty years to that, yours would be too young to marry Eugenia. They had one child named Jean, a daughter. That is the only child I have found so far. Maybe yours could be their child? Do you know your Hamilton's children's names?
I'll keep looking, and thanks for the help. I'll still check it out.
see ya
