I am looking for info on my husbands family.I know that a Marie REMM married a PFLEDDERER and lived on a farm in Francisville, IN. I have a death certificate for Gottfried REMM who was born in Willsbach, Germany 12 Sept 1843 and died in Barton co., MO.on 16 Feb 1933, it says he was sent to Francisville, IN for burial. He lived with his son Christian in Lamar, MO.Gottfried's father is listed as Friederich. Another son was Gottlieb or posssibly Friederich who had several children who came to America.George REMM, Karoline WALDBUESSER, Julia ARNOLD (Herbs line) and Hermina REMM. Herb and his brothers remember visiting the farm as children.

Robert H. Pfledderer, 85

FRANCESVILLE -- Robert H. Pfledderer, 85, of 420 S. Bill St., died at 1:51 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus.

Born May 5, 1921, in Francesville, he was the son of the late George and Marie Remm Pfledderer. He married Norma L. Kahler on June 26, 1948, in Francesville. She survives.

Mr. Pfledderer was a farmer and a brick mason. He formerly served on the Francesville town board.

He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and American Legion, both in Francesville, and he did volunteeer masonary work on churches. He served as a sergeant in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star by Gen. George Patton.

Surviving with his wife are four daughters, Lona S. Hudson (husband: Kent) of Metamora, Ill., Linda K. Gutwein (husband: Stephen) of Francesville, Lorene L. Furrer (husband: Brian) of Reynolds and Lisa M. Knobloch (husband: Keith) of Wyoming, Ill.; a son, Larry R. Pfledderer (wife: Darlene) of Francesville; four sisters, Marie Spaeth, Ann Henzler and Donna Faris, all of Rensselaer, and Jeanette Zaring of Monticello; and two brothers, Adam Pfledderer of Francesville and Raymond Pfledderer of Crown Point.

Visitation 1-8 p.m. (CDT), 2-9 p.m. (EDT), Monday, June 5, 2006, at Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home, Francesville, and at Apostolic Christian Church, Francesville, 1 hour prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. (CST), 10:30 a.m. (EDT), Tuesday, June 6, 2006, ministers of the church officiating. American Legion military graveside service at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville. Surviving are 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 6 brothers, 3 sisters, and a son-in-law, Dr. Stephen K. Elsasser. He enjoyed helping others through volunteer masonary work on many churches. He found much joy in serving his family. Memorial contributions may be given to Parkview Haven Retirement Home. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at

william-- thank you so much for the info.Would you happen to know if Gottfried was married twice? On his son, Christian's, is listed Christiana Braun as his mother but Johanna Dietz is listed as his wife on his and in the census. Phyllis
