Hi,

No you wouldn't findd the deceased parents on a death certificate. I've made a list of what you will find.

a. Registration district and sub district where the death was registered.
b. Registration Number
c. Date and Place of Death
d. Name of Deceased
e. Sex of Deceased
e. Age of Deceased
f. Address of informant/person registering the death
g. Cause of death
h. Name of registrar

Hope this helps

Thank you Shellyb22

In the case of a female would it show her maiden name?

Alas, no. But the occupation column will normally give the name of her husband and his occupation (i.e. wife/widow of XY, whatever).

Did they have children after 1 July 1837? Have you looked for their birth certificates?
