I am looking for information concerning Thomas Botkin's children, especially Thomas James Botkin, born in 1811. Thomas Botkin was born in 1761 in Highland Co., VA, married in Augusta Co, VA, and died in Pendleton Co, 1822. I believe his son, Thomas James, is our ancestor, but need more information. If you know this info, let me know.

My great grandfather was Benniah (Bemah)Botkin (Bodkin), born 1820. He had a brother listed in the 1850 census as Delana, age 28. They were from Coopers Creek, which is the same general area as Big Chimney and Mile Fork. Their mother's name was Jane, but I've yet to find the father.
Any help would be appreciated.

Although I'm told it has a few errors, the premier BOTKIN/BODKIN site seems to be http://www.rootsweb.com/~hcpd/norman/BOTKIN/RICHARD

It has several of the Thomas's listed.

John Botkin died March 1838 in a fall from a horse. This is from the Civil War pension record of John Botkin, Jr.
