I have been trying to locate a Johann Behringer, born in Baden Germany in 1826 who came to US in 1851.His brother Pius, shown as Pins, came to Philadelphia in 1852. I have no idea who he married, but he also had brothers Andrew and Anselm who came to US also, but at different times. A sister, Elizabetha came also. We think Johan had a daughter the day after they landed in America in 1851. Her name was Johanna.

I have no more infro on Johnn(Johanes) than you have, but I am great grandson of
Andrew Elmer. I have infro on mother and
father and the other siblings...Josef, Ana Maria, Nothburga, Elisabetha, Pius, Johnn,
Andrew Elmer, and Anselm. My cousin has
worked on this since 1957 and has done
a great job. Briefly... Andrew E. migrated to
Texas while the others seemed to locate in the north(Indiana) . We are in posession of
documents, letters and some pictures of both branches and back to Germany.
Be glad to help! Gary B.

luther..sorry i have taken so long to respond. some think and maybe correctly that
all the behringers in u.s. are somehow related but that seems unlikely since some
came from prussia while most from germany.
our family line entered u.s. in mid 1800,s
through 5 out of 8 children born to johann
behringer(1778-1845) and elisabetha hommlicher( ?-1832). From here we know that
anselm lived and thrived in Ind. and that
Andrew Elmer wound up in Tex. We recently found a brother pius marrying in NY with dates that could make him. we knew he landed
in Phil. Pa. and when but nothing else. That
leaves Johann b.1826 and elisabetha b.1822.

Luther, check Edwards death certificate and also look for Hermans naturalization papers. I see that Edwards social security # was issued in New Jersey. Edward b: 3-22-1900 d: 1981 Syracuse NY.

My grandmother was Geneva Behringer. She married Benjamin Franklin Petty in Texas. Probably Hill or Bosque co.
Somewhere in the family there seems to be an A.E., could this be your Andrew Elmer. My great-grandfathers name was Isaac Andrew Behringer.
