William Henry, my grand father Sam who lived
in Boaz,Al. William, or Pappa Will we called him,
worked for the rail road and moved to Tn. He
Married Cora Etta Senter. Their first son,my
Father, Benjamin Floyd Burnett was born in
Benton,Tn. in 1908. They came to Tx. in 1911
and lived in Hunt Rains counties. I am searching

I'm sorry, I don't recognize any names you listed.
My ancestors, on both sides of my family came
to Texas, from Benton, Tn. The Burnett's were
in Georgia prior to that. I believe my Grandfather,
William Henry Burnett, moved to Benton, where
he met and married my Grandmother, Cora Etta
Senters. They came to Texas in 1911. My mother's
family, The Haney's were from Benton, Tn.
as well. They moved to Texas in about 1900.
I think the Burnett name is Scottish and Haney is Irish.
Wish I could help you more with your search.
Please keep me informed, who knows there may
very well be a connection somewhere in our
backgrounds.
Good Luck,
James

You mentioned a Sam (Burnett) living in Boaz, Alabama. Do you have any more info on him. Because I have a Sam or Samuel Burnett and he had two brothers. But I am mainly interested in Sam.

Any info would be appreciated.

The Sam Burnett that lived in Boaz, Alabama,
was my grandfather's brother. I don't know if there
were any others. Their father was John Westley Burnett. Sam
lived in Boaz for most of his life and owned
cattle. His son, also Sam was a banker in Boaz, at least that's how I understand it.
I believe they were all born in Georgia. Hope this helps, let
know if we are related.
Thanks,
James

My family tree includes a Samuel with two brothers all born in GA. Samuel was the youngest of the 4 (1 sister). Moses eldest born 1758 in Ga, John born 1761, sister Susan born abt. 1770 and Samuel born 1777. Samuel moved to Conecuh Co. AL prior to 1820.

If this sounds like your roots, I'd be happy to share.

I am replying to your message about Sam Burnett. Did he live most of his life in Boaz, Al. If he did then he was my dads
uncle, and my grandfathers brother. I did also have an uncle
Odell, his first name was Ira.
Thanks for your reply,
James
