I have lots of information on the Chaufty family
going back to late 1700's. French variation
Chauffettet. If you are a Chaufty chances are good that
we're related!

I am trying to locate any information on an Unknown Chaufty that died in 1930. He was my grandmothers' father and his full name is unkown. I believe he died in Nebraska, Valentine area.

Can you share more information about your grandmother? Her name, birthdate, and mother's name would help to connect her to her father. My Chaufty's were in the area during that time.

I believe Myrtle was married to Duane Henry CHAUFTY, born July 29, 1887 in Nebraska and died Dec 25, 1928 buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Cherry Co., Nebraska, although I have conflicting information on the date of his death. I'll look at my notes later today and find the sources of my information. Duane was brother to my great grandfather Leon Chaufty.

I can find no documentation for why I have Duane Chaufty married to Myrtle Sheldon but will continue to look. Unfortunately when I first started my research I didn't keep good notes. I've learned my lesson though.
