Crosse, Leonard (CRO4) b. 1644 in London, England
d. 1685 in London, England
Spouse: Jane ? b.
d. 1694 in London, England
Child: John Crosse (CRO5) b. 1660 – 1665

Leonard Crosse (III) was the son of Leonard Crosse (II) and Mary Katterne. His father died while he was an infant and it is not known if his mother remarried. He is known to have had a brother, nine years older than him. However, there were probably other siblings since their parents were married for eighteen years before their son Thomas was born. Leonard married Jane and they lived on Newgate Street in London, England. Jane’s maiden name is not known. It is thought that Leonard was probably a merchant. His son John Crosse was transported to the Colony of Maryland, following the Monmouth Rebellion. Records indicate that Leonard Crosse paid for John’s passage to the Colony, which probably saved him from the fate shared by many of the Rebels. Leonard Crosse died that same year. Jane remained in London, did not remarry, and died in 1694

I am trying to make a connection with my Maryland,WV, Cross Family. I have three Leonard Cross's in my family.
Great Grandfather Leonard Cross b. in 1790 d. 1862 married to Nancy Agnus Ashkettle from Little Orleans, Maryland. They had eight children, John William, James Franklin, Mary Elizabeth, Charles, Daniel Webster, George Washington, David and my grandfather Leonard Thomas b. 1848 in Allegheny County, Maryland and married to Sarah Jane Hibbert of Martinsburg, WV. They had four children, Mary, Florence, Arthur and my father Leonard Eugene, born 1886 d. 1971 and married to Margaret Mae Armentrout. I need help finding my great grandfather's parents. Could there be any connection with your Cross Family?
