The name Gauthier caught my eye. My great grandmother was Marie Touga. Her mother was Marguerite Gauthier. I can find no information on her other than she married Jean Baptiste Touga and was perhaps Native-American. Any connection?

My husband's great-grandfather was James
Daniel Sigler from Essex County, New Jersey.
He settled in Hamlin, Monroe County, New
York up on Lake Ontario, where he married
Mary Pier. They had several sons, one of
whom was named James DELOS Sigler. His
brother, William H. Sigler, was my husband's
great-grandfather. They both were in the
Civil War. We keep running into the DELOS
name with this family, but can't determine
where it came from. What is the origine
of this name? Is it French Canadian?

Thanks!

Marilyn
