would you happen to have information on Franklin Elworth Fornwalt b. c 1900 in Cherry Tree, Indiana Co, PA? I do not know his parents or siblings. He married Gertrude Ross in PA before 1918

I am looking for my mother's father and mother. I am not sure what their first names were, but the name Gertrude Ross sounds familiar for some reason. My mother's name was Frances Elaine Fornwalt. She had 2 sisters one was Ruth Fornwalt who married Robert Eyer and the other one was Rebecca (don't know her last name, she was from a previous marriage) Frances married Paul Heikes, then Walter Seitz(my father) Ruth married Robert Eyer. If any of these names sound familiar would you please answer me back. Thank you.

Yes these names are familiar. I really don't have too much though. Franklin Elsworth Fornwalt was born c. 1900 in INdiana Co., PA married to Gertrude Elizabeth Ross. I do not have Franklin Fornwalt's Parents. Gertrudes parents were Charles Ross and Sarah West. Would you have any idea as to when and where Franklin and Gertrude died?

I called my cousin who is Ruth Eyer's first child, her name is Wanda Mills and she told me that yes Franklin and Gertrude are our grandparents. She believes that Franklin died sometime in the early 40's she wasn't sure of the exact year. Her mother has since passed away but her father is still alive and he was providing some of the info. He said that Gertrude died around 1955 and both are buried in Harrisburg, Pa. She thinks the name of the cemetery is either Paxtang Cemetary or Derry St. Cememtary. She also said a lot of the family of Gertrude was from the Chambersburg, Pa area and Fayetteville, Pa area. How are you related? I am Frances's youngest daughter and I live in Oklahoma City now but born and raised in Harrisburg, Pa. Wanda said she would be glad to hear from you also, her address is Wanda Mills, 2270 St. Rt. 42, Millville, Pa. 17846 She does not have a computer so you would have to write to her. She also has some old pictures of Gertrude. She also made mention of a cousin of my mom's and my aunt's named Bob Ross.

I am doing this family for my Brother in Law, we share a common ancestor through another line off this family. Ruth Fornwalt died August of 1991 in Bloomsburg, PA. Her daughter Glenna Eyer is my Brother in Law's mother. She must be your cousin.

Hi Julie,
Yes Glenna is my cousin. In fact she is the one who taught me how to drive. Aunt Ruth was my second mom. My sister and brother and I spent all our summers in Eyers Grove. The lady I told you to contact is Glenna's sister. I can't believe how small the world can be. Is your brother-in-law in Fla. also? Glenna and Steve were at my mother's funeral when they were here visiting Steve's Mom. She lives in Edmond, Ok. and I live in OKC. I tried to start doing my family tree on here, but when I got off the computer and tried to get back into it, it wasn't there. Do you know where I can put the tree on the computer and save it to my hard drive? I can't wait to tell my sister that we have been talking! My maiden name was Seitz. Can't wait to hear from you again.

I've located a tombstone in a very hard to find cemetary in Canoe Creek, Pennsylvania in Huntingdon County. It reads: Mary A. wife of Wm. Walls died January 8, 1903 aged 72 yrs. 2 mo. 9 days. Could this be your Mary Ann??? Email me at pringle@ix.netcom.com if you want the exact location!

I think that I have cousins that have the last name of Ross.. but I would have to check with my father. My great-grandfather was Percy Fornwalt not sure when he was born and our family was from the Tower City area until we lost our land.. supposedly in a poker game.. can't verify that though.. just rumors. My Grandfather was Edwin Fornwalt and he moved to Chester when he was a boy. He was born 1910 and worked in the coal mines when he was a boy up in that area. I am not sure of the county but it is up near Shamokin area.
