My wife is an ancestor of Andrew Garrod who emigrated to USA in 1906/7 aboard the White Star Liner "Adriatic".

There are a lot of relations over here in the UK and his daughter Ethel is still alive too

Anyone can fill us in as to what happened to him?

The spelling I have is GARROOD. My grandfather was harold and his wife was bessie jones. He was born between 1880 and 1885. He had a daughter named Ethel my mother and she she was named after her aunt ethel. I think they are from the new brighton area.

hi I am searching for Garrods in the Uk. My Grandmother was Eliza Ann Garrod who married Joseph Chestney/Chesney in Kings Lynn Norfolk. Although I don't have any information on an Andrew I was wondering if there is a connection somewhere. My grandmother had a brother called George who went to Canada to join the Canadian Army during ww2 when he was killed. Ironically my grandmother witnessed this on a cinema news reel. We don't know if he had any children. My great grandfather's name was John Garrod but thats all the information I have at present. If anyone knows anything else please let me know.

Our family spells its name GARROOD and are known to come from the Bethnal Green area of London. We can trace some members of the family back to George Garrood who was born around 1820-30 and we have a direct line to him. We are struggling to find out any more information.

My grandfather was Harold Garrood born in Croydon, Surrey England 1882. There were 6 brothers and 2 sisters in the family. His father was George and mother was Elizabeth (Jeal) and his grandfather was George. It seems like we may have some things similar.

I can trace my ancestors back to a George Garrood (1810 - 1891), a clothier in High Street, Tooting. His grave is in St Nicolas churchyard at Tooting. Our lineage has been traced back to Thomas(1729-1807) Sarah Garrood of Tooting

My family spell our name Garrood. My father's family lived in Heston, Middlesex from about 1935. My step gt grandmother (following my gt grandfathers divorce, apparantly a scandolous marriage to a younger woman)lived on the Kent Coast until she died in the early 80's. I understand that they lived in France but had earlier lived in Spitalfields. I would love to hear if this fits in with anything you know.
