My grandfather, Mads Peter Graversen, (b. 10/15/1878 in Holstebro, Denmark - d. 7/31/48 in Neenah, Wisconsin) came to the US from Denmark with at least one brother, Carl. Mads Peter married Agnes Ingrid Didricksen in Neenah. Carl was married to Sonstegard and lived in S. Dakota. Mads Peter and Agnes had eight children - Earl, Myrtle, Les, Raymond, Bernice, Harold, Howard and Jeanette. Carl had four children (I think) Prudence, Noble, Curtis and Carol. I believe there was at least one other brother who might have come from Denmark, possibly two. Any information would be greatly appreciated. My father and I started trying to put my mother's family history together after she died, but unfortunately, my father died before we completed the project. My mother's living brother and sister are unable to shed much light on the mystery of their missing uncles.

I called my aunt to see if she could give me any more information. She really had nothing to offer.

All I know: Mads Peter Graversen
Born October 15, 1878 in Holstebro, Denmark
Died July 31, 1948 in Neenah, Wisconsin
Attended Lutheran church in Wisconsin and probably attended a Lutheran church n Denmark.
Was a brick mason
Came to the US with one brother, Carl, when they were young adults.

I have a photograph of my grandfather and three young men I assume are his brothers. The photographer's mark on the photo is J. Rasmussen, Holstebro.

Any information you may be able to offer will be greatly appreciated.

About the born day – i can only find the year, not the date – find them later for you

The are all member of the Lutheran Church in Denmark

If there are other family members, they are born after 1880, but i have not founded them yet

Not more are found at the registry office – The Church register will be open in januar 2001 –

One of the problems are, a lot of people has been going til America from other countries,
Denmark – Sweden – Germany – Norway.
The Danish arciv are at the moment only to 1905, but it has been updatet every month.

That's about all the information I have. I don't have the dates. The family settled in South Dakota about the 1900 or a little later. DB
