Dear Richard,

In April 1767 Hannah Grimsey married John Richardson at Layham, Suffolk. They were both "of Layham" and one of the witnesses was a John Grimsey who was a witness when an Anne Grimsey was married there a month earlier.

Hannah's birth is not in IGI but several children were born to John and Mary Grimsey in Layham about that time.

I'd be pleased to hear if you, or any other readers, have made any progress understanding the Grimsey famly.

Best wishes,

David Richardson.

Richard,

My ancestor Elizabeth GRIMSEY (daughter of David GRIMSEY and Mary Anne LILLEY) married John MCKAY.

I too live in New Plymouth and would be interested in your research.

My line from the GRIMSEY family:
GRIMSEY - MCKAY - GILLBANKS - FARLEY - ZALOUM

Hi

My family are related to the Grimseys mainly in the Mendlesham/Cotton area, originating from Somersham and Wetheringsett.

If I can be of any help, let me know!

Catherine

It may be a long time since you posted your request relating to the Grimseys.

I have just started researching my family. It would appear that i may well belong to another arm of the grimseys, based arount St helena in suffolk. If this is of interest to you please contact me.

Thanks for your query, but i think, given the data that you listed, it is unlikely that we are related.Could i suggest that if you had included the dates that this would have helped further.

Good luck for your research
