Born in Hanover, Prussia, Germany 3/10/1833, died in Eyota, Minnesota 5/13/1916. Married Charlotte Martern (born in Roth Canton, Lauterecken, Baiern 6/24/1832, died in Eyota Minnesota 5/1/1893). Both in Oakgrove Cemetary.

I have the fullest Hanenberger family tree that I know of, almost current up to the early 70's. Descendants of Daniel and Lotta Hanenberger. Contact me via email for information! Or to see if you're on the tree!

Deb :)

The children of Daniel and Charlotte (Lotta) were:

Christina (born 5/15/1858, died 10/20/1894)

Elizabeth Katharina (born 2/9/1860, died 6/3/1930)

Katharina Charlotte (born 10/1/1861, died 8/22/1951)

Peter (born 3/4/1863, died 1/14/1949)

Daniel (born 6/3/1865, died 2/10/1931)

Maria Katharina Amelia (born 12/12/1868, died 9/16/1933)

Charlotte (born 5/15/1871, died 2/24/1945)

Karoline (born 4/16/1873, died 2/16/1951)

The original Hanenberger name was spelled Hahnenberger. This was changed between the births of Charlotte and Karoline.

Interesting note: Peter and Daniel married sisters Anna Margaretha Haag, and Maria Margaretha Christina Haag.

The sisters married, respectively, to these last names: Stickfort, Uthke, and Wiese. With Elizabeth Katharina marrying Jacob William Behnken, and Maria Katharina Amelia marrying Henry Behnken! (also brothers?)

Interesting!

Deb :)

I would like to correspond with you about the Hanenberger line. My earliest ancestor in US was Adam Hanenberber or Hannenberger or Hahnenberger of Washington county, Illinois. Jerry

I have been inspired to compile all of the family tree onto a web page, which I am currently working on. It's going to take me months to complete, I believe, but so far, so good! If you want to check it out, go to: //www.geocities.com/ambientmystic/hanenberger.html (The page name may change to index.html soon... geocities, go figure) I've gotten most of the beginning information down on it, now I just have eight children's worth of descendents to finish typing. Heehee. However, it is a wonderful source, I'm wondering if you're in it! Email me at AmbientMystic@yahoo.com, and I'll see if you are in the book perhaps, although funnily enough it seems like we come from two separate Hanenberger lines! You seem to know alot more about the Hanenberger/Hahnenbergers in Germany before coming over here. And I know none of my relatives immediately settled in Illinois! So, I'm wondering if we're related back to the Hanenberger family in Germany! How much info do you know about the Hanenberger's in Germany... how far back they go, relations, etc. I sure wish we could find this stuff out! But there's so little resources for us! Well, thanks for writing, and send me an email sometime and we shall correspond!

Thanks!
Deb :)

I ran across your information while doing a search of the name of Daniel Hanenberger. My Great Grandfather's name was Daniel Hanenberger who was married to Charlotte Martern (sp?). My Grandmother was Elizabeth Behnken (Hanenberger). I grew up in St. Charles, MN so I am guessing that this is the same Daniel Hanenberger (too close for coincidence). I hope you receive this message as it has been awhile since anyone posted. I have some additional family tree information from Elizabeth's descendants if you are interested

Jerry - Do you know if Deb has an updated email address by any chance? I sent a msg to her at AmbientMystic but got a failure. I am pasting in the msg I sent to her with my information, I am almost certain she and I are related through Daniel. Here is what I have: My mother is Elaine (Behnken) Weber, her parents were Jacob and Lucy (Stickfort) Behnken, Jacob's parents were Jacob and Elizabeth (Hanenberger) Behnken, Elizabeth's parents were Daniel and Charlotte (Martern) Hanenberger.
