Surnames: Krumeich, Lutter, Milon
I am looking for information on any relatives related to me with the name of "KRUMEICH". My grandfathers mother was Meta Lutter - Newark,NJ - and I believe her mother was Louise Lutter from Germany b. 1835 d.1918 in Newark.

On the Krumeich side, My grandfather Franklin A. Krumeich b.1912, was the son of Francis J. Krumeich b.1870 Newark, NJ and Baptised in St. Mary's church Newark, NJ, who was the son of Francis J Krumeich Sr. and Francisca Milon.
The Krumeich's come from Alsatia (Elsass) Germany - or is it really France? but I'm not sure in what year they arrived in the US.
If anyone has any information to share I would appreciate it.

Hello. I have gathered additional information together on my website: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~krumeich/

I hope you find it helpful. I will continue to update it as I receive more information on the Krumeich line.

I am a descendant of a branch of the Krumeich family that lived in Manhatten and Brooklyn...We were told the name meant "crooked oak" too. Somehow, we felt they had emmigrated from Koblenz, Germany. My great-grandfather, William Krumeich, was a cabinetmaker as was his son, William, who was in the Navy during the later part of the Civil War. He too was a cabinetmaker and he died when his four sons and a daughter were very young then his Irish wife died within the next 4-5 yrs leaving the children orphans. The boys were all trained as glassblowers and followed the trade from factory to factory, ending up in Indiana and Ohio. Wondering if you had ever ran across this group of Krumeich's or if they are mentioned in the book you read about the Krumeichs. My Irish great-grandmother's maiden name was Needham.

Unfortunately, I have not. I've found a lot of information, mostly regarding ancestors from Newark, Peekskill, France and Germany, and I'm starting to realize that I am only beginning to scratch the surface.

As you find more information, please feel free to send it my way or to tie it into my comprehensive descendants' list.

Thank you,

Joseph
