I am the great great great grandson of Joseph Lame born 1766 in New Jersey. Are there any other Lames out there?

Doing some research in No. Dakota, ca. 1890 I found a Lame(f) who married into a Carignan family. Might there have been a homesteader in the Lame family, ca. 1880, in Dakota territory - Pembina

I'm not aware of any Lame in my ancester history that was is North Dakota. That doesn't mean that she wasn't from the Lames of New Jersey as they had rather large families by today's standards. What info do you have?

My great grandfather was Joseph Lame, who died in 1908 in St. Louis, MO. His family was from New Jersey. My cousin, Marc Lame, M.D. is a surgeon in Michigan, and is also his direct descendent. I am looking for my grandmother, Mary Anna Cullen Lame, born in Ireland February, 1879, and we do not know where or when she died. Thank you.

Dear Harold, Thank you. This woman's husband was Harvey Louis Lame born in Griggsville Illinois in about 1870 and his father was Joseph Lame who worked on the Mississippi River. Are we related? I believe the family is originally from south Jersey/Phila Pa.

There is a Joseph Lame family buried at Pittsfield, Il. but I don't know where he was born. He had a son, Howard G born 24 Dec 1839 that was a river boat pilot on the Mississippi. Howard has a sister Sarah and half sister Mary (two names that keep coming up in my line from N.J. There is another name Charles from Cairo,Il. who was from New Jersey that I also cannot connect up to anyone. This came from a genealogy.com search:
Lame, Joseph Robert death notice on 1/28/1908 from St. Louis Post Dispatch at St. Louis Public Library .(Nothing on Harvey yet).

This was also found at the site but is referring to another person. Found in Descendants of Thomas Sr. Willis: The references seemed to be from Gallatin Co. Il but it didn’t specifically say for the probate records.

The Illinois State Library did not have the Post Dispatch but did have the St. Louis Globe Democrat for Jan 1908. There is a death enty on 28 Jan 1908 on page 7 'Lame- Joseph Robert Lame, drowned December 25, 1907 at Paducah, Ky. aged 57 years 10 months and 24 days. Body not recovered. The Post Dispatch might have more info. The county where Paducah is located should have the death certificate. What leads you to believe that Joseph descends from the Lames of NJ?
