I am working on my husband's family tree (Barno & Lapinsky .... PA & Ohio). I have been using Ancestry.com for looking up a lot of information. Today I saw some information that you posted to the web site a while back. You posted a note to Carol (?). You indicated that you were her cousin.
My husband's name is Richard Barno. His mother's name was Ann Lapinsky Barno. Ann passed away this past May, in Tallmadge, Ohio. Her sister, Mary (Pittsburg), attended the funeral. She has 2 living brothers who were not able to make the funeral (Pete & Hurky?). I think that one of them is Pete Lapinsky (the one you have referred to in your posting). After the funeral service we went to dinner and Mary Lapinsky (?) ( Pittsburg, PA) talked about the Lapinsky family ... growing up, Mr. Lapinsky, etc. She had some funny stories.
Ann Barno, lived in Tallmadge, Ohio, for the past several years. Prior to that she lived in Suffield and Kent, Ohio. She had 12 children, 10 still living. Most in the Suffield, Ohio, area. Two sons live in the Boston, area (Rich and John Barno). Rich is my husband.
I recently found Frank Lapinsky's WWII draft record, which lists he and Mary (Marks) as living in Colver, Cambria Twnsp, PA. His birthday is listed as June 17, 1885, born in Austria. Mary is listed on the record as well (name only). Frank is described as having blue eyes, brown hair, and a dark complexion. Do you have a listing of the Lapinsky relatives? I have a listing that one of the relatives gave me a while back.
If you have any further information regarding the Lapinsky family, we would love to share information. We have Frank Lapinsky's birth date, but not his death date and where he is buried? Do you have Mary Mark's information?
Have you participated in any of the genealogy dna projects? We recently submitted swabs to the Family Tree DNA project and the results are just coming in. So far, there are a number of individuals that are linked to the Barno and Lapinksy families. You might want to have your father participate. The information is very interesting and shows where the family lines originated.
We hope to hear from you soon.
