I have some Texas Luckey's in my family. As the story goes in 1859-1860 Sam Luckey and his sister Ann(?) walked from Texas to GA after the death of their parents. Sam was a real character, lots of wives, and he was a friend of Thomas Edison. He died in FL in 1926.
Would enjoy hearing from you.

Could you possibly have 2 or three generations mixed up? My grandfather, Samuel A. Luckey, Wife was Anna M. Christian died in 1933-1934 here in Florida, had seven children of which, my mother is youngest. He was a friend of Edison's and sold delivered Beef to him.
Now my great grandfather has the reputation you are talking about including an Indian wife. His name was also Samuel Luckey.
Need to find out more about great grand paw I guess.
SAMUEL A. LUCKEY
