MICHAEL: MY HUSBAND, VINCENT MANNINO, DOES NOT RECALL ANY RELATIVES BY THE NAME OF MICHAEL MANNINO. HE WANTS YOU TO KNOW THAT HIS FATHER, PETER MANNINO, CAME FROM PALERMO, ITALY AND HAD TEN BROTHERS!!!!! THEREFORE, IF YOU RESEARCHED THE MANNINO'S IN PALERMO, ITALY YOU MAY COME UP WITH SOME RESOURCES OF INFORMATION. THERE ARE SO FEW MANNINO'S IN THIS COUNTRY. YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT THE CHICAGO AREA, I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE SOME MANNINO'S THERE. IT'S NICE TO KNOW THERE ARE SOUTHERN MANNINO'S BECAUSE I'M FROM MOBILE, ALABAMA. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY NEW YEAR. CAROLYN AND VINCE MANNINO.

Hi,
I'm researching the Mannino family from New York. I also live in Louisiana. I am looking for information on Rose Mannino who is my grandmother. She married an Ernest Mule' and had several children. Anthony Salvatore (who is my father), Salvatore and a daughter who was nicknamed Dolly. I don't know her real first name but do know that she married a Scala and lived in Brooklyn. My grandmother remarried after my grandfather's death to a Schettino and they lived in Yonkers, Queens, New York. If any of these people are any relation to you I would be most interested in sharing information. I can be reached at Shanlee1@bellsouth.net. Thank You Shannon McClendon

my step-grandfather was Gaetano Mannino, born in Italy on April 27, 1882. Came to USA in 1902. Travelled with carnival. Met Susie Mullins Bryant in Wellston, OH. Then moved to Westfield, NJ. Had children--Michael, born about 1928 and Josephine born 1929. He had two other sons from previous marriage. One lived in Elizabeth, NJ, one lived in Florida. One of these sons was named Anthony (tony). He supposedly fathered other children with a woman in Philadelphia, PA. Gaetano died at Overlook hospital in Summit, NJ on August 17, 1973. Let us know if this is a relation.

My ggrandfather was Vito Mannino. I believe he was born in or around Palermo. He married Elisabetta Geicchitans (that is how it is spelled on my grandfathers birth certificate) and they had 5 sons. Somewhere along the way her family name was changed to Shikatino. I believe it was spelled incorrectly on the birth certificate as well and may be something akin to: Sciacchitano. I have yet to find real evidence of that. My grandfather was named Vito at birth (1910)but he later changed it to David. His brothers were Albert, Samuel, Raymond -- I can not remember the name of the other brother. Even though I have not run in to too many Manninos in my life, I have been told it is a fairly common name in Sicily. All of these Manninos (David and his brothers) were born in Philadelphia and lived in the greater Philadelphia/New Jersey area.
My grandfather married Helen Papa and they had two sons - David Jr. and Daniel.
I do not know how many siblings my ggrandfather Vito Mannino may have had. I am looking for any connection to Vito.
Regards,
Donna Anderson
