Hi, I came across your request and my grandmother's father was Felix Marcano.
He was born in Bani, Dominican Republic. But later he and his brothers left for Cuba.
I know one of his brother's name was Luis.
My family is white and I know that a lot of the slaves from that area and Venezuela were also
given the family's surname. I hope this helps.

Hi, my name is Javier Marcano, My grandfather is Manuel Mario Marcano who is approximately 91 years old and lives in Carolina, Puerto Rico. I'm not sure how many brothers and sisters he has or had. My aunts from the Marcano side were born in Gurabo, PR. I still have 2 aunts that live there. Please reply.

The first Marcano on recor in Venezuela was Domingo Marcano, alderman in the island of Margarita in the 16th Century, apparently the ancestor of all the many thousands of marcanos in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic. There are some Marcanos en the Basque Country and in the Cantabric province in Spain. I do not know wether the Marcanos of Puerto Rico came from Venezuela or vice-versa.
