What time frame are you referring to? I'm looking for the family of Donat Rouette in Manville, RI. Where did your Wheel family settle?

Can you tell me the names of the rouette's that came to ny from canada. As my G.Grandfather told us that when he came to NY that the New Yorkers would not hire the french canadians, So he than changed his name from Rouette to Wheeler or Wheel.

Any information that you could help me with would be appreciated.

My Great Granfather's name is Frederick J. Rouette (Wheel or Wheeler) and he lived in Clinton Co. And when my grandfather (Romeo O. Rouette) moved to Springfield, Ma he changed his name back to Rouette.

Thank you again.
Pam Rouette

Hi, Oliver Rouette lived in Champlain, NY on the canadian border of Clinton County, NY. He had a son Pierre who married a Lucie Landry. They had several children, one was a son named Joseph who married Marie Rock, a sister of my ggf, another was a girl named Amelia(Emilie) who married John B Rock, a brother of my ggf. They moved to Huntington, Ma and are buried in Westfield, Ma.
Take care, Ed

Hi
What was the name of his wife? What was/is the name of both of your parents ans where did they marry. We need that kind of details to start to search. I have done a little research on the Rouette family. You may be a descendant of my ancestor Jean-Baptiste Duplessis and I would like to find out. (Several of his descendants women were married with Rouette. The Rouette were from Pointe-du-Lac near Trois-Rivières. Like any other family, in the 18s lot of them moved to USA

Hi,

I have a Dona Rouette in a repertory of Pointe-du-Lac. He was born 1891-03-18 in Pointe-du-Lac, Québec, he and Marie-Rosa Desaulniers were married on September 26, 1912. I don't know where.

Could it be him? If so, I have his ancestors and I am searching his descendents.
