Maciej Slaski was married twice, his first wife was Joanna Mossakowska and when she died he married Francieszka Chodokowska. The Slaski family originally came from Slasy Leszcze in the parish of Zielona and then in the late 1700's the last of the family land holdings were sold in Slasy Leszcze and the family then purchased land in Niesiobedy, a village down the road. In the mid 1800's Maciej and his first wife moved to some land that the family owned in Chelchy Jakusy, this is in the Karniewo parish.

I was married to Casimir George Slaski who was the great grandson of Kazimerz Slaski and son of Casimer. He adopted my first child so that all of our names would be the same and I had three children by him. My childrens names are Jeff, Brian, Scott and Julia. Brian is extremely interested in his family name and history. Unfortunately my marrige did not last, but I had wonderful children and always told them to be proud of who they are and where they came from

My guess is that your grandparents names were Kazimierz and Frances (Sparzak). If I am correct then you also have a Aunt Thelma and they live in Dundalk, MD. Your Aunt should have a copy of the family information on the "Slaski" family. If you can not contact her please let me know and I will see what I can do. Are you using any Family tree software to keep track of your famly information, if so wish one.

Take care and I will be waiting to hear from you.

Stephan

Thelma is my grandfathers sister. My brother got a letter from Thelma explaining some of the background. He has some of our family tree and is going to e-mail it to me tonight.
