I am researching the family of Matthew Strahan and his wife Elizabeth who came to America from Ireland with small daughter Sarah W. Strahan. Think they landed in S.C. and had children Nancy Strahan, Thomas Strahan, David W. Strahan*, Martha Davidson Strahan and John G. Strahan.

I'm almost in shock. I have been researching My GGG-Grandfather for 30 years and have only found two other descendants interested in the family history. I have a massive data base on most of his children and pictures galore that were left to me by my Grandmother Francis Lee Strahan Bates. I can't wait to hear from you. I can Gedcom whatevery you need in excahnge or anything. In 1978 I wrote a book on Mathew and Elizabeth Strahan and their descendants but have continued to up date information ever since. Are you a descendant?

I read with much interest about Matthew Strahan.
We have traced my husbands family back to a David
Strahan, born 1755, Cumberland County, North Carolina,
Also fought in the Revolutionary War. Could this be
the David W. Strahan you mention. Please let me know
what you have. I will gladly forward anything connected
to you .
Thanks, Sheri

Hi, Through your reply from Kae Partin, I read that Matthew Strahan
is the father of David W. Strahan. We have traced my husbands family
back to a David Strahan, born 1755, Cumberland County, North
Carolina. He also served in the Revolutionary War. Could this
possibly be the same David Strahan? If so, I'd sure be interested
in some pictures, we also have some pictures and a book about
the Strahan's travels from Kentucky to Arizona, and would be happy
to pass info along.
Thanks,
Sheri

I'm sorry but they are not the same David Strahan's. My David is David W. Strahan, son of Matthew Elizabeth Strahan of Northern Ireland. David was born in 1822 in YOrk Co., South Carolina.

Sorry
