My great grandmother was Anna Christina Stroot, married to
Andrew Kollmann in Effingham County, Illinois. My father
remembers visiting Stroot relatives in St. Louis. There was
a Willie Stroot who was just a little older than him so that
would be born about 1910-11 or there-abouts. My father was
born in 1913. I don't know anything else about my Stroot
relatives as my father has forgotten a lot of names. Is there
a possibility that your William is an ancestor of the Willie that
my dad remembers? I am willing to share my info on the
descendants of Anna Christina if that is the case. All I really
know about her is that she came over on a 'bride' ship. And I have
a photo of her on my webpage. Any info will be gratefully
received.

HI . I have a CHRISTINA STROOT who married FRED VOSS. They lived in St. Louis in the 1860's into the 1870's when Fred Died. Christina then moved to Wabasha, Mn and remaried someone by the name of Rheingans. Fred and Christina's daughter , MARY VOSS, married a Gosse in Wabasha. This Gosse family also came from the Lengerich area. There are also other Stroots in the Wabasha, MN area. Does this connect to your line at all? My Stroot info is so sketchy, as is the Voss stuff. Send a reply if any of this fits. Mary

Hi Kylie
Thanks for your response. It's neat to see a teenager interested in genealogy. I've always felt that my Christina Stroot was somehow related to Wabasha Stroots, but have been unable to find a connection. Ask your grampa what he knows about the Wabasha Stroot family. I'd love to figure out the connection.
p.s. My family goes pretty far back in Wabasha. My gr- grandpa ran a livery stable there at the turn of the century(1900), and my grampa was sherriff of Wabasha County for over 20 years.(Jacobs family.) If you find out about Stroot history, I'd love to try to connect to it.
Mary

I think my family lived there for i while. My dad moved and i live in Florida. Either my grandpa or his dad use to live in Firefighting or in the police force. I can remeber. I will ask him if he knows anyone of Wabasha Stroots.
