Apparently Wiliam Edmisten is my 4th greatgrandfather through his son Emanuel. Do you have his children's names? My line came from Missouri to Texas and Oklahoma.

Hi Mary,
I am sorry but I don't have any info on this William Edmisten. I have found that William married Elizabeth Suddreth Blair and had a son William. I don't know what happened to Elizabeth but our history book jumps to years later when he married Nancy Garner and they had 5 sons and 3 daughters with one of them named William Harrison. I am sorry I can't help you more but if I come up with anything I will sure e-mail you. I would like to have anything you have on this William.
Thankyou
Virginia

Hi Gerry,
My GGGGGGrandfather was William Edmisten who first married Mary Elizabeth Suddreth Blair(first married to James Blair who was killed in the Battle of Kings Mountain). They had a son named William after his father and then our heritage book jumps to later after Mary died and he married Nancy Garner and that is where our lines come from. I wish I knew what happened to William and his line. We are having an Edmisten reunion next Sunday the 8th of September in Boone. I don't know where you live and I know this is short notice but I just found out today. If you are interested and close enough to come let me know and I will e-mail you info. If not I will try to find out what I can. My e-mail is vnkrj@skybest.com. Wish I knew more.

Hi Hughleta,
Thanks for writing me. Is your husbands Great ggg? grandfather William Wallace Dixon Edmisten? I am so confused when it comes to the Edmistens. I wish I had payed more attention to my Grandmother when she was alive. But at the time I was young and wasn't interested in those things. I regret it terrably.
My e-mail addy is vnkrj@skybest.com if you want to write without going through the message boards.
Where do you live?
I am verry interested in the Edmistens and all the relatives.
Thanks and am anxiously waiting a reply.

My name is Bob Edmisten and I think I may be of some assistance. My information shows that Emanuel Edmisson (Edmisten) was married, first, to Nancy Johnson and had a son Curtis. He ws married, second, to Nancy McVey. According to Curtis the family included 14 children; 12 of whom lived to adulthood. The 1840 (Polk) MO. sensus shows that six male and six female children were then living in the home. Of the 12, ten have been identified. John S., Martha and Ellen were named in a local history published in 1889. Seven others are identified in the 1850 (Randolph) Ar. census. These are William B., Martin, Melinda C., Nancy, Curtis, Mary and Stokley.

I have some other information if you need it. My e-mail address is bobedmisten@yahoo.com

I am now on this same topic. I'd love to get in touch with what people have put together. I also am descended from the Edminsons from MO through Emmanuel and Stokely Rowan (the black sheep).
