I am trying to find information for Lazarus Traynum born 1771 married to M. Francis H. John Pegg is their son who was my GGGrandfather. I have reached a deadend with this name the only information for Lazarus is on the 1800 census (1800 LAZARUS TRINHAM GRANVILLE COUNTY NC PAGE 548) I had thought this was probably a direct link back to Virginia Traynums but now believe that the record may be incorrect. SC and NC were once one territory and Granville was actually a parrish in the western most part of SC.

Any information would be appreciated..
Pat

Pat, My mother was a Traynum. I know I am related to John Pegg and Lazarus. I have found the cementary where they are buried. There is a cousin that is doing much research on the Traynums. You are welcome to e-mail me and I will give you the info that I have.

Jo Ann,
I know John Pegg Traynum is buried at Slabtown Cemetery, is Lazarus Traynum buried there too?

My husband is a direct line from Lazarus.

Please email me.

Can you tell me anymore about your relationship to the Traynum family. I know that there is a large family with the same name that is decended from the slaves of Lazarus Traynum that live or lived in the Greenville SC area. The name that you have given for your mother is not in the current family tree that both I and my cousin are researching. Unless she was a child of an uncle that we have not identified.

The only Lucille names are Lucille Traynum Land and Mattie Lucille Elrod Traynum.

Sorry I got sidetracked. Robert Traynum is a son of John Pegg Traynum and we do not have his wife or children. Could this be the link?
