I was always told that our Wagnons came from Germany originally. Wagners maybe.

The only info I have is on a Thomas Wagnon Sr born 1783, from North Carolina but I'm not sure if he was born there, he traveled to quite a few places I have a bit of story on him but nothing to say where exactly he came from. He married an Elizabeth Ruddle born 1784 I do believe they are both buried around Fayeteeville, Arkansas. Tracy

Thomas Wagnon, Sr. or junior, was his middle name Poythess? Spelling is probably poor.
I believe Thomas was a brother to William Oliver Wagnon.

Tracy:
I have a Thomas Wagnon b 1783 Surrey County, NC d 1838 Fayetteville, Washington, AR. Father was supposed to be who I call John Wagnon (Sr), about whom I know nothing else. Am keeping a database on all Wagnon information prior to 1900 I can find, would appreciate any information you can share.

This is a tough name to crack as I am sure you are aware there are a hoard of Thomas Wagnon's during that era, or so it sometimes seems!

My line originates with Peter Wagnon in SC, buried in Wharton's Bend, AL (Near Gadsden), then to Daniel-Peter-John-James-Hugh (Grandfather).

Thanks, and good hunting!

I am interested in finding a John Wagnon who married a native American named Tennessee, when they were married, where and the dates of their deaths.
They had children named John Seborn, Peter, Rufus, Cynthia and Julia. I am new at this search and will appreciate any help.

The information I have on Thomas Wagnon, Sr. is that is lived in Washington Co. AR. He was the son of John Wagnon, Sr. who in 1799 was listed on the Town of Henderson, KY tax records. Thomas Sr. had two brothers that I know of: John Wagnon, Jr. and Burrell. Burrell had a son Daniel who I have extensive information on.
