I am a descendant of Nicholas Weinhold II. I would be happy to provide you with whatever information I have that you do not. If you have not been in contact with Ernest Weinhold of PA I will also put you in touch with him. He has spent a great deal of energy and time researching the line and its' related families.

James,

I was raised in Lebanon County, PA, and met Ernst Weinhold a long time ago. I am also a descendant of Nicholas, and would like to get in touch with Ernst. My great grandfather was William, grandfather was Clayton (Winehold), and Father was Raymond. William is buried in Akron and served with the 17th PA Cavalry. I am looking for information about any Weinhold relatives who were active in the Revolutionary War.

Also, do you know the exact location of the annual Weinhold reunion that is held in Lancaster County, usually in July?

Regards,
Rob

Michael Weinhold the son of Nicholas Weinhold fought in the Revolution. I was not aware of any Weinhold reunion in Lancaster, PA. I only know of the one we have in August in Kansas. Send me your email address so I may send you some more information and Ernests email address.
James

I saw your posting and would like to chat with you. I descend from Elias Weinhold and Catherine Reed through their daughter Ellen Mary Reed (born 6 Apr 1849) who married James L. Moore. I don't have any other family information for Elias and would like to see if you could help me. I would also like to share what I have if you are interested. I look forward to hearing from you.

There is a Weinhold mailing liston the net. You can subscribe by sending a message to Weinhold-L-request@rootsweb.com
In the subject line and body of the message type the one word subscribe Ernest Weinhold was kind enough to furnish the information back from Elias to John Daniel, John George, John Wendel and Nikolas Weinhold, then to Valentine Winhold and Andreas Winhold b. in 1605 in Hutten, Schluctern, Hesse, Germany. Please email me so I can share with you. My email address is: bobbiesmith@juno.com

Surnames: WINHOLD,
I am responding to one of the postings mentioning the
Berwinkel Museum in Germany in connection with the
surname Weinhold-Winhold, and since I believe this
Museum to be in or near Schluechtern in Hessen, and
the village of Gundhelm also being near there, and some
WINHOLD's (including mine) coming from that village,
I wonder if there is more known about this place.

I just happen to have a Nikolaus WINHOLD, a bricklayer,
born 23 June 1794 in Gundhelm near Schluechtern.
His father was a Johann Georg Winhold, born 8.Oct 1763
also from Gundhelm.

Surnames: Winhold - Weinhold
I have a copy of a letter from the Bergwinkelmuseum dated in 1989 concerning the family of Nikolaus Wenhold (spelling shown on letter). It was in answer to a query stating more information on the family could be found with difficulty and asking for $$ to do research. In the letter they listed a Nikolaus Winhold, of Gundhelm born 2-15-1715 married 7-9-1715 Helena Burger of Oberkalbach. A son Klas (Nikolaus) was born 9-28-1715. The elder died in Muddy Creek, Lancaster Co. Pa. in 1771 and the son Klas died in Lancaster Co. Pa. USA in 1792. The letter states that parents of the elder Nikolaus of Gundhelm were Valentin Winhold of Hutten & Elisabetha Schafer. There was also a grandson Michael b. 9-28-1767 and d. in 1774 in Cocalico Twp. Pa.They also listed a Nikolaus Winhold of Hutten b. 9-24-1786 whose parents were Hans Winhold & Maragareta Schlamp.
