My grandfather's aunt, Rebecca Homersham married a man who some in the family called Algernon Daugleish, but I am thinking that maybe my great grandmother misspelled the last name. Also, they had a son named John so could it be that Algernon's real first name, or middle name was John?

there were quite a few other children of Rebecca Dalgleish. You would have to send another message to me so that I could check my files and give you the proper information.

I am related to the Rebecca who married John Dalgleish and then lived in Cambridge. She was Rebecca Collett Homersham. I',m not sure who it was that you were responding to on the message board, but would you email me with any information you have on this John Dalgleish? could his middle name have been Algernon?

Rebecca Collett Homersham was the daughter of Samuel & Mary Homersham - I don't know Mary's maiden name. I am trying to build a full picture of all the Homersham's especially those from Kent who are related to us. Algernon & Rebecca Dauglish had at least 2 children, John & Mary L - all on the 1881 census. I should be grateful for any information you can give me. Regards Christine

Surnames: Dalgleish, Homersham, Collen
Dear Christine,
Mary Homersham's maiden name was Collen. Her parents were Henry and Ellen Collen of London, primarily. I have a great deal of information about the Collen family. I am tryin g to get the full picture, as well, of the Collen family with the Homersham section completed. Was Algernon's real name John? Could we email eachother and exchange Collen and Homersham information for Homersham and Dalgleish information. My correct email is:

Surnames: Dalgleish, Carter
All this is interesting. I have a John Dalgleish (b. 1849, Greenlaw, Berwickshire, d. 1894 Chelsea, London, Prof Baker) who married a Rebecca Carter in 1875. His Father was William Dalgleish (b. 1824 Kelso Roxburghshire, d. 1885 Chelsea, London, Prof Baker) John's eldest son was William (I have no middle name but Alexander is used in the family) b. 1876 Holburn, London) The last record I have of him is in the 1901 census living in Chelsea employed as a Postman.
