I need help in finding more about my family history. My grandmother is Anne Diemert Watson (Annie Mary), named after her mother who died in 1912 of the flu, my grandmother is 1 of 3 children, Isabelle, Richard and Annie. My grandmother was left to live with her mother's sisters family, (since she was much to young for my grandfather to care for), my mother thinks her name was Maude Lienhart. My Great Grandfather came from a town name Diemerton in Ontario, and his granparents came from Alsace Lorraine. That is about as much information that I have. I would love to get as much information regarding my family as possible. Thank you

Dear Cheryl: It has been almost 3 yrs since your query, so if you are still interested, please contact me via my e-mail. Joseph F. Diemert was the patriarch in the New World and immigrated to Canada from Alsace, France, in approximately 1834. He had 20 children by 2 wives. Anna Maria, b.1Sept 1853, was his first child by his first wife, Catherine Schwartz. I am descended from his 1st son(3rd child) Joseph S. Diemert. Sincerely, Tony

My name is Jamie Diemert, I live in Ohio and am 27 yrs old. My grandfather was Donald Diemert and his father was Leo Diemert. They all lived in Ohio but have passed away. I dont think I can help you much but I was looking up Diemerton (that is where my grandfather said we were from) and saw your ad. So there are some other Diemerts out there and we live in Ohio.
Thanks

Hello,

I stumbled across this site while looking for something else and found this interesting. I am Cory Diemert and I am living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I have heard all the stories about Diemerton, the patriarch Joseph Diemert and the "boat baby" of 1828.

Was within 40 kilometres of Strasbourg, France a couple of years ago, apparently that is where the Diemert name comes from (Alsace-Lorraine). Interesting site!

How has your search gone? My father's people came from Diermerton, Ontario (often shown as Deemerton) and further back from Alsace Lorraine also. The other information does not match anything I have in my tree so far, but I wouldn't be surprised if we are somehow related! My grandfather was Soloman, married to Helena. His father, Daniel Diemert, was married to Appolonia and they had at least 18 children.
