Does anyone know of a website that has photos of grave markers from all or most of the cemeteries in Washington, DC? I know that's a tall order, but I'm trying to locate some McCallum relatives and I have no clue where they may have been interred - relative memories are fading.

I do volunteer work at Congressional Cemetery in D.C. They have an extensive database online at www.congressionalcemetery.org. I looked on their site, but didn't see any McCallum's. For anyone else searching this is a very good resource. I know they are transcribing all of their internment logs so the information will not be lost and can one day be put up on their site.

I have been to the Martin Luther King Library in NW DC, and there are some books by Paul Sluby, (Washingtonian Section) and he has names listed from the historical Woodlawn Cemetary, and some other cemetaries in DC. He is a historian and genealogists in the area.

I had the same problem trying to find where my grandmother is buried. If you have an Ancestry.com subscription you can do what I did - look up an obit. The Washington Post and the Washington Star (now defunct) obits are pretty good. If you do not have a subscription please send me particulars on the McCallums you are searching like full names, dates even if very approximate, any other information that might be in the obit like who might be referenced in the obit (their children and childrens' married names, etc).

I am really persistent and have had remarkable success and I would be happy to look for you.

Hello,

I recently read your post on Ancestry.com and was wondering if you could help me with a difficult problem. I am looking for a gravesite in North West, WDC for a homeless person whose name is Arthur Maynard Tolbert. He is listed as deceased, Sept 18, 2003 in the SSDI death index. His DOB is April, 1930.
I have exhausted all leads in finding his burial site. It would mean so much to me if you could help.
I can be reached at walterww1935@yahoo.com
