I am in the process of updating the records for the Hamburg cemetery. I am putting together a publication and am hoping to include as many obituaries and additional information on anyone who is buried here. If you have information on an unmarked grave, an obituary, or additional information that is not contained on the headstones, please e-mail me at gm6pack@heartland.net

Your email address did not work.I hope that this is helpful info.

The following is the obituary of my dad's (William Martin Cullin) uncle. Good luck in completing your very ambitious project. My husband and I started gathering family history information only last summer and it's people like you gathering information that makes possible the research of others.

thanks again

James McNaney Dies Very Suddenly

James McNaney life long resident of Hamburg, dropped dead Friday morning while
on his way to his place of business, having evidently over exerted himself in
the removal of snow about his home. Dr. Ralph Lovelady, county coronor, was
called but no inquest was held. This removes a man who had been in the produce
business in Hamburg for a great many years, a man who was held in high respect
by all who knew him. Jim did not have an enemy in the world and was known far
and wide for his fair dealings. As we go to press no obituary is available.

James McNaney was born in Hamburg, May 14 1876, and died February 11, 1944,
aged 67 years, 8 months, and 27 days. He leaves his wife and one sister, Mrs.
Flo Sullivan of York, Nebr., to mourn his passing. Funeral services were held
at the mansfield Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Father D.
Mangan (could not read this name) and interment was made in the Hamburg
cemetery.
