Blades Family

I am looking for information on the Blades family that settled in Millet in the late 1890s. James Blades died in Dec. 1955; there is only a brief note about his death in the Lethbridge Herald on 30 Dec 1955. The article does not mention his wife Sarah or any family. Can anyone look for an obituary on James? I wrote to the Millet library, but am not sure where else to try. James was the first overseer in 1904 and his wife, Sarah Bielby Blades had the first restaurant.

Thank you for any help or advice.

Hi Stella,
Thank you very much for your response. Yes, these are the Blades family members I am researching. Perhaps there are other reseachers of the Blades who can contact me with some further updates on the Blades family. My branch stayed in the U.S. while some of the brothers went to Canada. The Canadian branch married into the Van Meter, Hodges, Holtby, Stahl, Campbell, Hankin, Cameron, and Carmichael families.
I appreciate your help, perhaps I'll hear from other Blades researchers.

well, Mary..there is a list of people, on the coast..it is a rather shall we say - Medium List - would you like me to send it to you directly ? I have 3 email addresses. one which I use for such a purpose.

It's your choice..hmmm...there were 7 children (from Robert and Margaret) after which there were approx. 13 grand children, after which, I would have to ask my mother, being the only one left of the "children" she tends to keep track of such things - she is the youngest of all and is 86* (only survivor of that generation) me I am the new age 40 (60).

Nuff said I guess... you can send me a msg. directly if you wish ;-) then we can go from there.
