Does anyone know of Hanrahans who migrated from Mitcheltown Cork Ireland to Australia?
My gggrandfather Michael Hanrahan married Mary Casey. Their daughter Catherine Hanrahan born 1858 in Cork married Cornelius O'Rourke in 1879 in Maryborough Australia.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Hi, I'm only starting to look into this side of my family, but I do know that my great grandmother was named Margaret Hanrahan from Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, and was born around 1888. I don't know the name of her father, but I know that her mother was named Kate Lonergan. I would think we descend from the same Hanrahans. I live in Dublin and plan to do some research into this branch soon.

Hello and sorry I have not replied earlier but I have only begun researching again. I have made little progress with Catherine Hanrahan although I have found a few references to Hanrahans in Greymouth New Zealand. I do know that she had brothers who lived in New Zealand. Have you made an more discoveries with your Margaret Hanrahan? Regards Catherine
